Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable web applications using backend and frontend technologies
- Develop and maintain APIs and backend services supporting product functionality
- Build reusable frontend components and contribute to shared UI libraries
- Modernize existing systems to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with product and design teams
- Mentor engineers and support teammates’ professional growth
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
- Debug issues and collaborate with DevOps and QA teams to support reliable deployments
- Participate in sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and development practices
- Help establish the new Brno R&D hub and contribute to platform capabilities across payments, workflow automation, and AI-powered features
Requirements
- Strong experience designing and building production web applications across frontend and backend systems
- Experience with Rails, Node.js, React, or similar web technologies
- Experience building APIs and backend services
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL, including PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Strong understanding of software design principles and maintainable system architecture
- Experience working in Agile development environments and with distributed teams
- Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical guidance
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Preferred location is Brno, Czech Republic
- Experience building scalable SaaS applications is preferred
- Experience with React, Next.js, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or similar technologies is preferred
- Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, observability, monitoring, performance tuning, experimentation, or analytics tools is preferred
