Base Salary
$70k - $126k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, object-oriented C++ embedded software for airborne computing subsystems.
- Develop software according to coding and safety standards with peer collaboration and senior developer oversight.
- Create, execute, and automate unit and integration tests.
- Participate in Agile planning, estimation, execution, progress reporting, and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and bugs.
- Contribute to technical guides and data supporting software development, testing, and sustainment.
- Use GitLab CI/CD pipelines for configuration management, continuous integration, and automated testing.
- Communicate with customers, end users, and team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or an equivalent technical degree, with an overall GPA of at least 3.0.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
- 0–18 years of relevant technical experience, including qualifying academic, internship, research, or professional experience.
- Experience developing, integrating, testing, or troubleshooting embedded software or embedded-adjacent applications that interface with or control embedded systems.
- Knowledge of disciplined software engineering practices, including requirements analysis, configuration management, version control, coding standards, peer review, unit testing, continuous integration, integration testing, and software verification.
- Strong competency in one or more of C, C++, Java, C#, Rust, or Python, with the ability to develop in modern C++.
- Familiarity with unit or integration testing using a test framework.
- Aptitude with Linux and Windows and their development tools, scripts, debuggers, and administrative features.
- Familiarity with Agile tools such as GitLab Ultimate, Atlassian Jira, Trello, or Monday.com.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with IEEE 12207, CMMI, DO-178C, DO-278, RMF, MIL-STD-882, AI-assisted software work, real-time control software, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, board bring-up, and embedded debugging tools.
