Responsibilities
- Optimize the performance, responsiveness, and efficiency of AI features across Apple platforms.
- Advise feature and hardware teams on architecture, performance, capacity, and product planning decisions.
- Write code for feature optimizations and testing automation.
- Build analysis pipelines and simulation tools to support quantitative decision-making.
- Transform performance data into actionable insights through analysis, modeling, and visualization.
- Collaborate across software, hardware, and product stakeholders to influence technical and strategic decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages used for OS systems development, data analysis, and modeling, such as Python, R, SQL, C, C++, Objective-C, or Swift.
- Working knowledge of modern AI/LLM systems, AI/LLM model architecture, and operating system fundamentals.
- Ability to analyze raw data, build models, create visualizations, and produce actionable insights.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, written communication, verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred qualifications include an M.S. or Ph.D., experience shipping high-performance LLM-based AI features, performance modeling, capacity planning, computer architecture evaluation, and knowledge of CPU and memory architectures.
- Preferred experience includes performance analysis tools and methodologies, cross-functional project leadership, strategic product or business decision-making, and Unix, Linux, macOS, or iOS development or performance optimization.
