Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate secure, scalable AWS infrastructure for web portals, SaaS platforms, and IoT device fleets.
- Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, including version-controlled and peer-reviewed changes.
- Architect for high availability, fault tolerance, cost optimization, disaster recovery, and backup and restore operations.
- Administer AWS services including EC2, ECS/Fargate, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route 53, and CloudFront.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate build, testing, deployment, and rollback processes.
- Standardize containerization and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.
- Develop automation scripts and internal tooling with Python and Bash.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, SLOs, and SLIs using cloud and observability platforms.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, post-incident reviews, performance tuning, and infrastructure right-sizing.
- Apply cloud security, identity and access management, secrets management, network security, automated scanning, patching, and compliance checks.
- Partner with software engineers on cloud-native application design and developer experience.
- Establish DevOps standards, document operational procedures, mentor developers, and maintain runbooks and operational guidelines.
- Track project status using Trello and stay current with cloud and DevOps technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in a DevOps, Cloud, or Site Reliability Engineering role supporting production SaaS environments.
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud services and architecture, including EC2, S3, Fargate/ECS, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Strong understanding of Linux administration, Docker, Kubernetes, and virtualization.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
- Proficiency with Python and Bash scripting and automation.
- Working knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL and SQL Server, including backups, replication, and performance fundamentals.
- Understanding of DNS, load balancing, TLS, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure roles.
- Preferred: AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.
- Preferred: Experience with IoT ecosystems, device fleets, or home automation products.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Python, PHP, NodeJS, or C#/.NET application stacks for deployment support and troubleshooting.
- Preferred: Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or ELK.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management principles.
