Responsibilities
- Develop software and firmware for HIL benches, including test runners, simulation and stimulation interfaces, fault-injection tooling, and bench-control software.
- Build interfaces that provide synthetic vehicle dynamics and sensor data to embedded modules and inject CAN/Ethernet messages.
- Implement automated requirement-based tests for timing, fault handling, mode transitions, and disengagements on real hardware.
- Integrate HIL execution into CI for automated firmware and software release validation, test-modality tracking, and result reporting.
- Develop instrumentation and data-acquisition software for hardware timestamping, analog triggers, and endurance-run analysis.
- Bring up bench configurations, debug hardware/software interactions, and support Embedded, Autonomy, and V&V teams.
- Analyze and document test data for hardware, autonomy, and systems engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- 4+ years of experience developing software for HIL, embedded test automation, or real-time test systems.
- Strong Python programming skills and working proficiency in C, C++, or Rust for embedded or real-time contexts.
- Hands-on experience with automotive communication interfaces, including CAN and automotive Ethernet, plus message injection, logging, and debugging.
- Experience building test automation frameworks and integrating hardware tests into CI pipelines.
- Comfort working with oscilloscopes, DAQs, power supplies, E-loads, and hardware/software debugging.
- Strong Linux proficiency for command-line workflows, system utilities, and bench infrastructure.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- Experience with RTOS and real-time Linux is a bonus.
- Experience with plant modeling and vehicle-dynamics simulation using MATLAB/Simulink, dSPACE ASM, CarSim, or custom tools is a bonus.
- Familiarity with ISO 26262 and safety MCU architectures is a bonus.
- Experience with PyQt or web-based test-operator tooling is a bonus.
- Firmware development experience on automotive microcontrollers is a bonus.
