Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, and operate highly available distributed cloud services and major platform components.
- Own feature design and drive tactical execution of features and projects.
- Build service-oriented architectures and RESTful web services using Java, J2EE, and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Support production databases through SQL performance troubleshooting, deadlock and connectivity investigation, scheduled-job support, and availability and recovery collaboration with DBAs.
- Improve system reliability, scalability, redundancy, performance, observability, and operational excellence.
- Lead security, documentation, and UX reviews and partner with Product Managers throughout the launch lifecycle.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to standard engineering practices and process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant area, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
- Hands-on experience building and operating end-to-end systems and services and launching major features into production.
- Experience with distributed systems, highly available services, scalable architectures, and long-distance data transfer subject to compliance requirements.
- Experience with service-oriented architectures and RESTful web services.
- Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, object-oriented programming, Core Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, and thread-safe code.
- Strong Oracle PL/SQL experience with stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and bulk-processing routines.
- Production database support experience covering SQL performance, locking and deadlocks, connectivity, connection pools, scheduled jobs, availability, access, and recovery.
- Experience with JWT, OAuth2, Okta, and authentication and authorization frameworks.
- Experience with at least one scripting language for automation, proof-of-concept development, or command-line tools.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure; multi-Availability Domain or Availability Zone design; CI/CD; Docker; AI/LLM technologies; threat modeling; FedRAMP; PCI DSS; and enterprise customers.
