Responsibilities
- Implement strategic policies and novel high-performance algorithms for distributed systems.
- Own end-to-end delivery from concept and design through testing, deployment, and shipment.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical issues using appropriate methods and evaluation criteria.
- Gather requirements and validate solutions with contacts across functional boundaries.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate the technical activities of a project sub-team.
- Establish and assure adherence to performance requirements, work plans, schedules, and architectural direction.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience.
- Extensive experience designing, developing, and deploying systems software using C++, Java, or Go.
- In-depth knowledge of complex systems software domains such as distributed systems, operating systems, database internals, and containerization.
- Demonstrated ability to independently select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong design sensibility and ability to articulate, advocate for, and defend architectural choices.
- Track record of managing performance requirements, work plans, and schedules for significant engineering initiatives.
