Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated security assurance programs supporting organizational and regulatory compliance.
- Develop security observability systems, automations, and methods that extend beyond basic certification requirements.
- Create security and compliance checks, guardrails, and paved roads for employee workflows and build pipelines.
- Integrate security controls into the software development lifecycle and operational processes.
- Contribute across certification, application, build, cloud, supply-chain security, and internal security tooling.
- Respond to customer security issues, security alerts, and potential incidents.
- Collaborate with security teams, engineers, stakeholders, auditors, customers, and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- Production software development experience in at least one programming language, with programming principles including algorithms, data structures, and optimization evaluated in a code screen.
- Experience using and securing containerized, cloud-native applications; Kubernetes experience is ideal.
- Experience automating security and compliance processes with tools, scripts, and frameworks while enabling developer and employee workflows.
- Understanding of security frameworks, standards, and certifications such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST, or GDPR.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with peers, stakeholders, auditors, and customers.
- Experience building or improving security programs in cloud-based SaaS organizations is ideal.
- Experience with multiple cloud providers, Grafana Labs open-source projects, observability tooling, infrastructure compliance automation, open-source communities, or securing large-scale distributed systems is advantageous.
