Responsibilities
- Build scalable backend services, CI/CD pipelines, build systems, toolchains, and internal developer platforms.
- Partner with engineering teams to identify pain points and improve development workflows.
- Improve reliability, performance, scalability, and observability across distributed systems.
- Monitor system performance and health and proactively resolve issues before they affect users.
- Contribute to system architecture decisions and technical roadmaps.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering or related roles.
- Strong background in Python, Go, or C++.
- Experience with Unix-like environments, software, and toolchains.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins, cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Expertise in the software development lifecycle and translating ambiguous goals into software requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Bonus: experience in the autonomous vehicle or robotics industry.
- Bonus: expertise with monorepo development tools and services such as Bazel.
- Bonus: prior on-call support for P1 and P0 systems.
- Bonus: experience integrating AI/LLM systems, including building or extending Model Context Protocol servers.
