$195k - $263k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and engineers.
- Design identity primitives for agent proxy behavior, permission enforcement, and auditable attribution.
- Build scalable backend platform services and solve distributed-systems challenges involving performance and security.
- Collaborate with Security on customer-data protection and enterprise security practices.
- Support design reviews, communicate constraints, and guide technical trade-offs.
- Lead complex technical migrations while maintaining system stability.
- Drive initiatives that improve operational posture and engineering execution quality.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to Vanta’s engineering culture.
Requirements
- Industry experience in backend software development.
- Strong knowledge of authentication protocols including OIDC and SAML, identity federation and SSO, or authorization frameworks such as RBAC and policy-based access control.
- Experience building platform services that scale across multiple teams.
- Strong data-modeling skills for systems with complex relationships.
- Experience solving distributed-systems challenges involving performance and security.
- Experience with complex technical migrations that maintain system stability.
- Security-focused mindset and understanding of enterprise security practices.
- Experience leading technical projects spanning multiple months.
- Experience mentoring and collaborating with engineers.
- Willingness to use AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
