Responsibilities
- Own system design and implementation for Akamai’s Kubernetes-based cloud-native platform.
- Build proof of concepts, guide engineering decisions, and recommend technologies.
- Collaborate with product managers, product architects, engineering leaders, and business stakeholders to shape product direction and roadmaps.
- Develop engineering best practices, share knowledge, and mentor others.
- Work with engineering teams in an Agile environment.
Requirements
- Have 12+ years of relevant experience and a background majoring in Computer Science or a related field.
- Have experience building and operating highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable platforms.
- Have experience building production services with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies such as ArgoCD, Flux, Helm, Cilium, and RKE2.
- Have advanced knowledge of Kubernetes Operator/Controller patterns, Cluster API, and multi-cluster environments.
- Understand containers and related technologies such as Docker and containerd.
- Have significant experience with Linux, Go, and Bash.
- Be familiar with CSI, CNI, Crossplane, load balancing, and service mesh frameworks.
