Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of modular, high-performance infotainment applications using Android Automotive OS.
- Architect and integrate media, navigation, user profile, and distributed playback solutions.
- Develop modules communicating with VHAL and other HALs through AIDL and HIDL.
- Integrate applications with Android system services and vendor-specific frameworks.
- Debug and optimize issues across application, framework, and HAL layers.
- Collaborate with platform, hardware, and QA teams on integration and validation.
- Mentor junior developers and promote architecture, code quality, and testing best practices.
- Create and present architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 7.5 years of professional experience is required, with approximately 10 years expected in Android application development and infotainment or telematics.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++ 14/17.
- Deep understanding of Android SDK, Android NDK, Jetpack libraries, and MVVM architecture.
- Experience with Android Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.
- Hands-on experience with AIDL, HIDL, VHAL, HAL-to-application communication, AAOS car services, and infotainment integration.
- Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN at the application level.
- Exposure to media, phone, navigation, and cloud communication applications.
- Experience with partitioning concepts and cross-partition communication.
- Proficiency in unit testing, instrumentation testing, and mocking frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Git, debugging tools, adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety, ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity, TARA, and secure communication.
- Automotive or embedded-systems experience is preferred.
