Base Salary
$123k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and iterate on Generative AI applications, including RAG systems and lightweight agent workflows.
- Develop pipelines combining logs, metrics, and operational data for AI-driven use cases.
- Prototype AI solutions and transition successful ideas into production-ready tools.
- Apply LLMs, embeddings, and vector databases to incident management and system operations.
- Collaborate with engineering and product partners to identify high-impact AI opportunities.
- Deploy, monitor, and continuously improve AI-powered systems.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of software engineering or data engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience building successful LLM-based applications such as RAG systems or chatbots.
- Proficiency in Python or Go.
- Understanding of data pipelines and structured and unstructured data.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tooling such as LangChain or Hugging Face.
- Experience deploying applications in cloud or containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience with vector databases, traditional databases and warehouses, and embedding-based retrieval.
- Preferred exposure to observability, operational data, ITIL incident/problem/change data, APIs, microservices, or full-stack development.
- Interest in applying AI to system reliability and operational effectiveness.
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required.
