Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend services for GUS agile tooling, including work items, planning, sprints, and reporting.
- Build and maintain integrations connecting GUS with Salesforce systems, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Develop AI-assisted developer tooling, including agents, automation, and intelligent workflows.
- Own features through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production operation.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and contribute through code reviews.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
- Diagnose production issues, identify root causes, and drive preventative action plans.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction, standards, and team practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production services at scale.
- Strong proficiency in a modern backend language such as Java or Apex and experience with large, complex codebases.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs and building system integrations.
- Knowledge of data modeling, relational databases, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- Ability to own features end to end and deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Preferred experience with AI-assisted development tooling, LLM-backed agents, coding assistants, or automation.
- Preferred experience building on or extending the Salesforce Platform, including Apex, LWC, and platform APIs.
- Familiarity with agile tooling, engineering-productivity systems, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Splunk, or Grafana.
- Ability to influence across teams, consult on design and architecture, and mentor peers.
