Responsibilities
- Define a multimodal content representation strategy spanning video, image, playable content, audio, and text.
- Translate regulatory and contractual obligations into measurable objectives for machine learning systems.
- Define evaluation standards and build labeling infrastructure for scarce, noisy, ambiguous, and contested labels.
- Build shared content embeddings, game-level features, evaluation harnesses, and labeling pipelines.
- Operate production machine learning systems on an advertising serving path while balancing latency, throughput, and cost.
- Lead architectural direction across teams, influence design decisions, raise engineering standards, and mentor senior and mid-level engineers.
- Review and remain accountable for production code, including code produced with AI assistance.
Requirements
- Deep experience in multimodal machine learning combining vision and language, particularly video.
- Extensive production experience owning trust and safety, content moderation, brand safety, or policy enforcement systems.
- Experience working with scarce, ambiguous, disputed, and changing labels or violation definitions.
- Experience adapting foundation models for production, including fine-tuning, distillation, and latency and cost optimization.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience operating production machine learning systems on a serving path.
- Proven ability to lead technical direction and influence architecture across teams without formal authority.
- Familiarity with advertising-content regulatory and policy regimes such as DSA, child-directed treatment, and regional advertising standards is a preferred qualification.
- Strong systems thinking across distributed-system performance, scalability, reliability, and cost tradeoffs is a preferred qualification.
