Applied AI Engineer
Cognite - AI for IndustryResponsibilities
- Own end-to-end deployments of cross-stack solutions using Cognite Data Fusion and agentic frameworks
- Integrate AI components, Cognite data models, and existing customer systems
- Architect and implement multi-agent systems using LLMs, tool use, evaluation loops, and reasoning over industrial data
- Collaborate directly with customer technical teams on-site to refine use cases and integrate solutions into production
- Build lightweight interactive interfaces for executives and operators
- Explain technical work through compelling narratives for internal and external stakeholders
- Incorporate customer feedback and learnings into the product roadmap
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, embeddings, prompt engineering, and related AI techniques
- Strong full-stack engineering ability with React or similar, TypeScript, and Python, Kotlin, or similar backend technologies
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in software engineering, AI solution architecture, or similar roles, including direct customer-facing work
- Experience building LLM-driven or agentic applications using LangChain or similar frameworks
- Strong storytelling and communication skills for technical and executive audiences
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, scalable code and apply testing, version control, and code review practices
- Familiarity with modern AI development workflows, rapid iteration, and agentic engineering tools
- Preferred: strong UI/UX instincts, industrial data knowledge, Cognite Data Fusion experience, vector databases, RAG architectures, cloud-native development with AWS, Azure, or GCP, industrial domain exposure, industrial control systems experience, and startup or high-velocity product experience
