Base Salary
$143k - $161k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and implement video player features for iOS and tvOS applications.
- Build video playback solutions supporting FOX’s streaming initiatives, including playback components, user interfaces, metadata, and third-party integrations.
- Lead efforts involving performance, scalability, security, architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Coordinate and prioritize tasks across team members and provide technical specifications and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, project management, and backend technology teams to deliver software.
- Coach and support software engineers through educational and development opportunities.
- Participate in a Tier 3 on-call rotation for services developed and operated by the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Excellent programming skills in Swift and Objective-C.
- Experience with Cocoa design patterns and Xcode tools.
- Experience leading a mobile application team at a technology company.
- Knowledge of building responsive user experiences across phones and tablets.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, unit testing, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with Git, SVN, Jenkins, and Docker.
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills; UML diagram experience is a plus.
- Preferred experience with HLS, video QoE metrics, ABR algorithms, AVPlayer, AV Foundation, Conviva, and Segment.
