Responsibilities
- Develop scalable, distributed software systems and applications.
- Design, develop, debug, support, maintain, and test software applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist subject matter experts with software architecture and industry best practices.
- Improve code quality through unit tests, automation, code reviews, and process improvements.
- Plan and execute application modernization, re-platforming, refactoring, and performance optimization efforts.
- Partner with SRE teams to deploy and manage data infrastructure on GCP or AWS.
- Own applications end to end, including incident response and post-incident reviews for customer-impacting issues.
- Use AI-enabled development tools to improve engineering productivity, software quality, development velocity, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor colleagues and support professional development, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience managing and deploying commercial software products.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux and experience triaging and resolving data and performance issues.
- Proven proficiency with Java and/or Scala, Python, Spark/PySpark, and scripting languages.
- Experience managing solutions on GCP or AWS using a broad range of cloud services.
- Experience working with large-scale, distributed systems.
- Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude for software development, troubleshooting, automation, and productivity.
- SDLC tooling experience with Maven, GitHub, Jenkins, and Terraform.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, collaborate across teams, and demonstrate ownership, curiosity, problem-solving, and continuous learning.
