Responsibilities
- Work with the Product Owner to define, refine, and deliver the product backlog.
- Design and document software solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Implement and refactor C# product code for maintainability, testability, and performance.
- Develop unit tests, test frameworks, and automated test cases.
- Review and debug code, defects, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt.
- Collaborate with test engineers to ensure suitable test coverage and execute manual tests when necessary.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and continuous improvement activities.
- Coordinate day-to-day development and bug-fixing activities.
- Mentor junior team members and lead selected engineering activities.
Requirements
- Proficiency in software development using C# and .NET.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle in a commercial or production environment.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, SOLID principles, Agile, and Extreme Programming methodologies.
- Experience with development tools including IDEs, version control, test automation, continuous integration, and defect and backlog management systems.
- Ability to design high-performance, scalable, and extensible software architectures that are easy to test, debug, and maintain.
- Experience with GUI design and implementation, including WPF or WinForms.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and Git.
- Experience with unit and GUI test automation frameworks such as MS Test.
- Knowledge of Azure and cloud technologies.
- Passion for mathematics, statistics, and complex algorithms.
- General knowledge of the insurance industry.
- Degree educated in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a relevant discipline.
- Passion for using AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot is desirable but not essential.
