Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python applications, services, and data-processing solutions.
- Build and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Develop data-processing workflows and integrate data from APIs, databases, files, and streaming systems.
- Work with large datasets while ensuring data quality, integrity, availability, and performance.
- Implement reusable software components, automated testing, monitoring, logging, and error handling.
- Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, architects, and technical stakeholders on end-to-end data solutions.
- Contribute to data platforms, pipelines, infrastructure, architectural decisions, documentation, and engineering standards.
- Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and automation while working in secure environments and following governance requirements.
Requirements
- Significant commercial experience developing Python applications and services.
- Strong data engineering experience designing and developing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Proven experience with SQL, relational databases, and large datasets.
- Experience with PySpark, Spark, or Pandas.
- Strong understanding of data quality, transformation, and integration.
- Experience with Git, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Comfort working in Linux and secure development environments.
- Experience delivering production-grade solutions in complex technical environments.
- Active UK Security Clearance at SC/DV level is mandatory.
