Responsibilities
- Lead firmware design activities and break down work packages for the broader firmware team.
- Contribute to and coach engineers delivering embedded software, validation, and maintenance of industrial embedded systems.
- Evaluate system-level requirements with product specialists, product managers, and engineering peers.
- Develop cross-platform C/C++ firmware while maintaining code quality through engineering practices and automation.
- Support sustaining activities across a broad industrial product portfolio.
- Collaborate with electronics design, manufacturing, services, customers, suppliers, and external vendors on product development and troubleshooting.
- Participate actively in the full software development lifecycle for next-generation industrial sensing products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited college or university.
- At least 5 years of experience developing embedded C/C++ applications for embedded operating systems on ARM targets.
- Experience with Linux, QNX Neutrino, Micrium μC/OS, Git, and SVN.
- Proficiency with software and hardware debugging techniques.
- Practical experience designing industrial products and communicating effectively in technical and non-technical environments.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to work across functions and with customers and suppliers.
- Preferred experience includes real-time signal-processing algorithms, STM32, CubeMX, Yocto, IAR Embedded Workbench, serial communications, network protocols, vendor chip and driver integration, and hardware debugging.
- Familiarity with reading electrical schematics and PCB layout designs and with tools including JIRA, Confluence, and Jenkins.
