Responsibilities
- Contribute to the architecture, design, development, testing, and delivery of Vanguard’s native iOS application.
- Lead cross-team initiatives improving scalability, performance, reliability, developer productivity, and technical debt.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and improve the mobile engineering ecosystem.
- Champion automated testing, CI/CD, observability, performance optimization, and modern iOS development practices.
- Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence across the mobile engineering community.
- Conduct architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews.
- Partner with architects, product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver client experiences and business value.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent relevant experience.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- 5+ years developing and delivering native iOS applications.
- Extensive experience building and shipping native iOS applications at scale.
- Deep expertise in Swift and modern iOS development practices, including SwiftUI and UIKit.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, dependency injection, testing strategies, data structures and algorithms, and performance optimization.
- Experience leading technical design and architecture decisions, influencing technical direction, mentoring engineers, and driving engineering best practices.
- Experience with cloud development platforms, mobile/web development frameworks, and microservice architecture.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Fastlane, automated testing, observability, monitoring, Git, and modern development workflows.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and learn new technologies quickly.
