Responsibilities
- Own, build, and operate a technically complex FinTech system with its own technical strategy.
- Design and implement subscription, usage-based consumption, metering, token consumption, billing, settlement, and revenue lifecycle capabilities.
- Apply systems thinking across product information, pricing, orders, subscriptions, fulfillment, usage, and financial transactions.
- Make consequential decisions about what to build, scale, or retire, and own the resulting outcomes.
- Create precise specifications covering business rules, system behavior, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Design for financial correctness, data integrity, auditability, security, compliance, and resilient production operation.
- Instrument systems for adoption, usage, reliability, and financial accuracy, and prove value with data-backed standards.
- Partner with Product, Finance, Compliance, Operations, Commercial, and engineering teams to translate requirements into reliable software.
- Implement financial controls and traceable workflows supporting auditability, revenue recognition, taxation, and compliance.
- Mentor engineers toward ownership of complex systems and stronger architectural and production-risk judgment.
- Identify financial errors, data loss, security vulnerabilities, and AI-specific risks before release.
- Lead new techniques from discovery and prototyping through proof of concept and hardened production rollout.
- Document systems and technical direction clearly enough for other teams to use without constant coordination.
- Build evaluation and validation infrastructure for AI-assisted or AI-native systems.
Requirements
- Meaningful hands-on experience building and operating production systems across two or three FinTech areas such as PIM, CPQ, O2C, FEM, FX, reconciliation, or settlement.
- Relevant experience may include payments, subscriptions, revenue recognition, financial reconciliation, billing operations, or usage-based consumption.
- Experience with subscription lifecycle management, usage measurement, pricing structures, billing, and financial controls.
- Ability to translate domain rules into explicit specifications and testable behavior, including failure scenarios and financial edge cases.
- Understanding of how upstream changes affect downstream financial records, customer access, and operational workflows.
- Track record of becoming the de facto owner of an organization-critical problem space through building and operating it.
- Experience mentoring software engineers toward ownership of highly complex systems.
- Experience taking techniques from external sources or research through prototypes and proof of concept into safety-reviewed production.
- Understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, responsible AI, data classification, privacy, and AI-specific vulnerabilities.
- Advanced proficiency with prompting and experience applying enterprise-approved AI tools across the development lifecycle.
- Must hold valid right to work in the United States.
