Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams on platform bring-up, low-level drivers, and Network Interface Module integration.
- Design, implement, and maintain ROMMON and bootloader software for secure and reliable system initialization.
- Develop and optimize high-performance forwarding-plane software for secure routing environments.
- Implement and optimize Layer 2 networking protocols and features.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks across kernel, hardware-abstraction, control-plane, and hardware layers.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools, static analysis, test automation, and modern IDE workflows to improve development quality and efficiency.
Requirements
- Require 8–12 years of industry experience with end-to-end networking software development.
- Require experience with platforms, system software, kernel and user-space drivers, bootloaders, BIOS, and control-plane/data-plane performance tuning.
- Require strong C/C++ systems-programming skills in Linux environments.
- Require experience developing device drivers, working with RTOS/Linux kernels, and understanding hardware-software interfaces.
- Require knowledge of routing architectures and Layer 2 protocols including Ethernet, VLANs, and STP.
- Require experience with ROMMON, bootloaders, hardware bring-up, and board support packages.
- Require the ability to debug complex issues across hardware, firmware, and software layers.
- Require experience with LAN/WAN interfaces and Layer 2/Layer 3 technologies.
- Require experience with AI/ML techniques and development tools such as code assistants, static analysis tools, and test automation.
- Prefer knowledge of high-speed interfaces including PHY, MAC, and MACsec, plus DPDK.
- Prefer platform/system expertise in kernel bring-up, driver development, platform/network management software, and cloud networking.
- Prefer debugging experience with I2C, I2C trace analyzers, and PCIe.
- Prefer knowledge of x86 or ARM assembly, instruction sets, and ABIs.
- Prefer experience with GDB, Arium, BDI, or other hardware and software debuggers.
