Responsibilities
- Help build production FarmerChat features using LLM provider APIs, prompts, provider SDKs, tool-use patterns, and MCP.
- Run and extend automated AI evaluation suites covering accuracy, hallucination, bias, edge cases, failure modes, and regressions.
- Maintain embedding pipelines and vector stores supporting retrieval-grounded LLM responses.
- Support multimodal systems involving speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and image classification for crop and pest detection.
- Monitor, debug, and document AI systems using observability tools, runbooks, prompts, and experiment records.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, product teams, and field teams to ship reliable AI systems.
Requirements
- 1–4 years of relevant experience in software engineering, machine learning, data science, or a related AI role.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, AI/ML, or a related field.
- Solid Python skills, including the ability to write production code beyond notebooks.
- Hands-on experience with at least one LLM provider API, such as Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering basics, including few-shot prompting, chain-of-thought, and structured output.
- Basic understanding of embeddings and vector stores.
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Preferred experience includes agentic workflows, MCP, tool-use patterns, speech or vision models, LLM evaluation frameworks, cloud AI platforms, fine-tuning, open-source LLMs, and Docker/containerization.
