Responsibilities
- Customize and extend AOSP Android framework layers, including Telephony, ConnectivityService, and Hardware Abstraction Layers.
- Optimize LTE, 5G, and Wi-Fi connectivity, including handover performance and stability.
- Integrate vendor-specific Radio Interface Layer components and modem firmware.
- Analyze and tune system performance, including memory usage, CPU utilization, and memory leaks.
- Debug latency, connectivity, and other complex system-level issues using Android and network diagnostic tools.
- Deliver products or projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate with distributed teams and leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience working with AOSP and Android internals.
- Expert-level Java and C++ proficiency, with JNI experience required.
- Understanding of LTE/5G protocol stacks, including NAS, AS, and RRC layers.
- Experience with the Android Telephony Framework and Radio Interface Layer.
- Familiarity with Android build tools including Soong, Ninja, and Make.
- Familiarity with Jira, Gerrit, Git, Gradle, QXDM, dumpsys, and tombstone.
- Strong performance analysis, debugging, written communication, and oral communication skills.
- Hands-on AOSP experience and experience with large-scale frameworks, Linux, or significant open-source projects are advantageous.
