Sr Lead Software Engineer Commodities UK
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Develop, test, review, debug, and operate secure, high-quality applications for global commodities trading desks.
- Liaise with Product and Financial Controllers to elicit reporting requirements and resolve reporting and system issues.
- Drive decisions affecting product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices and agentic development pipelines, including validation standards for correctness, performance, and security.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide software development lifecycle frameworks, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal software engineering training or certification and advanced applied experience.
- Experience working with front-office trading desks and business users such as Product and Financial Controllers.
- High proficiency in Python and advanced ability in one or more programming languages.
- Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Strong understanding of Risk and PnL reporting infrastructure paradigms and systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
- Experience using agentic development pipelines and practical cloud-native experience.
- Ability to independently solve complex design and functionality problems with little to no oversight.
- Preferred qualifications include Athena or comparable Python risk-management platform experience, commodities and derisking domain knowledge, front-office Risk and PnL reporting experience, and familiarity with AI development pipelines.
