Base Salary
$148k - $222k/yr
Responsibilities
- Ship foundational services that help Klaviyo engineering move faster with confidence.
- Design and develop platform primitives involving infrastructure, databases, queuing, and related core services.
- Improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of core platforms.
- Design and develop systems and processes that enable highly available and scalable applications.
- Use Python, Go, AWS, and Kubernetes to advance the platform.
- Mentor and pair with engineers while promoting performance, self-healing systems, configuration as code, and defensive programming.
Requirements
- BA or BS degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience operating and scaling complex distributed systems.
- Experience working in a cloud-native environment.
- Proven application development experience in Python and Go.
- Experience operating Kubernetes at scale.
- Experience with Terraform.
- Fundamental understanding of Linux and all layers of the networking stack.
- Experience in platform-related areas such as Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, API gateways and traffic management, observability, or asynchronous processing tooling.
- Experience experimenting with AI in work or personal projects and willingness to learn new AI tools and workflows.
