Responsibilities
- Define and validate non-functional requirements covering performance, scalability, throughput, latency, availability, failover, recovery, and data integrity.
- Design, build, maintain, and execute load, stress, soak, endurance, and capacity test suites using JMeter or comparable tools.
- Run tests against realistic payment workloads and analyze bottlenecks, regressions, resource constraints, failover gaps, and consistency risks.
- Validate resilience, recovery behavior, degradation characteristics, and transaction integrity under concurrent load and fault conditions.
- Profile and tune JVM-based services with feature teams and validate performance fixes.
- Produce reports, visualizations, recommendations, sizing guidance, and capacity recommendations for engineers, leadership, and customers.
- Establish release baselines, track performance trends, contribute to NFR standards, support go-live readiness, and explore performance validation in CI/CD pipelines.
- Research and resolve software problems while maintaining knowledge of system software, dependencies, and network environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, performance engineering, QA engineering, or a similar hands-on technical role.
- Demonstrated experience designing and executing performance and load tests for distributed systems.
- Proficiency with JMeter or comparable tools such as Gatling, k6, or Locust.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting test data, isolating bottlenecks, and producing engineering recommendations.
- Proficiency in Java and familiarity with profiling and tuning JVM-based applications.
- Strong written communication skills and experience navigating complex multi-service architectures.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent software development experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience.
- Preferred experience includes observability tooling, availability and failover validation, data integrity testing, Kubernetes, event-driven microservices, messaging systems, MongoDB performance analysis, payments or fintech, security or compliance validation, and customer-facing technical documentation.
