Base Salary
$175k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain processes for building and deploying scalable, reliable software-defined networking solutions on AWS.
- Enhance the Kubernetes compute platform with AWS networking features and Kubernetes networking solutions such as Istio service mesh.
- Implement AWS networking concepts including VPCs, route tables, security groups, ALBs/ELBs, and Route 53.
- Promote and implement observability best practices using Splunk or Datadog for network monitoring.
- Act as product owner for infrastructure by gathering engineering feedback and developing solutions for platform pain points.
- Build next-generation infrastructure with a focus on reliability, simplicity, and scalability.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in infrastructure and platform development, particularly software-defined networking and AWS cloud services.
- Production software development experience with modern languages such as Python.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration tools including EKS and ECS.
- Experience with AWS networking services including VPCs, security groups, NAT gateways, ALBs/ELBs, Route 53, AWS Network Firewall, and AWS WAF.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
- Understanding of cloud-native design principles, networking concepts including ISO Layer, BGP, and RIP, and Linux systems including Bash and filesystems.
- Experience with traditional networking appliances and equipment such as Palo Alto.
- Experience configuring and managing Nginx as a reverse proxy and load balancer.
- Experience implementing and managing API Gateway solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud solutions such as Cloudflare or Fastly, including CDN and edge computing capabilities.
- Strong product and user-centric mindset.
