Base Salary

$110k - $151k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, implement, and test modular software applications and tools for emulating cyber-physical systems.
  • Extend and customize emulation frameworks such as QEMU using C/C++ and Python.
  • Analyze binaries, identify hardware dependencies, and rehost firmware in emulated environments.
  • Develop emulator tooling, virtual device models, and digital component models for embedded-system reverse engineering and analysis.
  • Network virtualized models to create integrated, end-to-end system simulations approximating real hardware behavior.
  • Validate model quality and correctness through unit and system testing, first-principles analysis, measured data, documentation, and hardware/software artifacts.
  • Communicate model and algorithm foundations through technical reports and briefings.

Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance with eligibility for Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for the applicable U.S. Government clearance requirements.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ for systems-level or embedded software development.
  • Proficiency in Python for tool development, automation, and integration.
  • Familiarity with QEMU or similar emulation and virtualization frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture, emulation principles, modular design, testing, and code review.
  • Experience with collaborative source code management such as Git.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred qualifications include Top Secret clearance, network architecture and protocol experience, low-level software or firmware modification, device-driver or real-time/embedded operating-system experience, embedded reverse engineering and firmware rehosting, Ghidra/IDA Pro/Binary Ninja experience, component modeling, hardware-interface experience, and a master’s or PhD.
