Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data warehouse and data lake solutions using Snowflake.
- Implement data integration and ingestion solutions using Snowflake, Snowpipe, Azure Data Factory, or other ETL technologies.
- Design and develop ETL workflows and automate data-processing activities.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, cursors, and user-defined functions.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize databases, ETL packages, SQL queries, and other data-layer components.
- Analyze query performance using Snowflake Query Profile and cache architecture.
- Apply data modeling and data warehouse concepts, including Star, Snowflake, and Data Vault schemas.
- Collaborate with application developers, project managers, senior IT leaders, clients, and tax subject matter experts to define and implement data solutions.
- Address changes in core application systems and their impact on existing SQL databases.
- Communicate program strategies and negotiate quality technical solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of combined experience using Snowflake, Azure SQL, or SQL Server, including database building, database design, and data modeling.
- Hands-on expertise designing, developing, and implementing data solutions.
- Strong database programming and backend development experience using SQL Server or Azure SQL.
- Experience with Snowpipe, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or another ETL tool.
- Knowledge of Snowflake architecture, including compute-storage separation, virtual warehouses, streams, tasks, query profiling, and caching.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling and data warehouse concepts.
- Familiarity with Python for automation and scripting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as an individual contributor.
- Exposure to Power BI or another visual analytics tool is preferred but not mandatory.
