Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities
- Define and execute the technical vision and multi-year ML roadmap for recommendation, matching, and entity representation capabilities.
- Architect and own large-scale ML systems for interaction prediction, candidate ranking, and candidate/job retrieval in high-throughput production environments.
- Solve two-sided marketplace problems including intent prediction, bilateral relevance, cold starts, and feedback loops.
- Own models end to end from exploration and feature engineering through distributed training, offline and online evaluation, and real-time latency optimization.
- Mentor Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists and establish organization-wide best practices for building, deploying, and evaluating ML models.
- Partner with engineering and product leadership to drive technical alignment and production delivery.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience developing and deploying machine learning models in large-scale production environments.
- Proven experience architecting and shipping end-to-end ML solutions that serve production traffic at scale.
- Deep expertise in recommendation systems, personalization, ranking and retrieval, or interaction prediction.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on expertise with PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Proven technical leadership and mentorship experience across cross-functional engineering and product teams.
- Strong background in statistical modeling, online experimentation, and offline metric design.
- Preferred experience with two-sided marketplaces, supply and demand liquidity, bilateral matching, dynamic pricing, or auction-based models.
- Preferred experience with Two-Tower Neural Networks, Graph Neural Networks, Transformer-based retrieval models, or Contextual Bandits.
- An advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
- Preferred experience with modern MLOps architectures and distributed training frameworks.
