Base Salary
$139k - $223k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and own geometric map-generation algorithms for sensor optimization, pose-graph optimization, and multimodal alignment.
- Process large-scale lidar logs into automated offline maps and identify algorithmic fixes for system failure modes.
- Improve the runtime, scalability, and performance of distributed map-build pipeline stages.
- Debug and improve data quality across large datasets and pipelines.
- Collaborate with neighboring teams to define data contracts and integration requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor ’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience in C++.
- Hands-on experience with 3D geometry and point-cloud processing, including techniques such as ICP, scan matching, pose-graph optimization, nonlinear least-squares optimization, surface reconstruction, or lidar-based SLAM/mapping.
- Strong knowledge of linear algebra, spatial transforms, numerical optimization, and probability.
- Experience debugging and improving data quality across large datasets or pipelines.
- Preferred qualifications include HD mapping or autonomous-vehicle/robotics map-building experience, computer vision or semantic segmentation experience, large-scale distributed data processing and performance optimization experience, geospatial knowledge, and Python proficiency.
