Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software for satellites, sensors, ground systems, web applications, and aerospace platforms.
- Support AI-assisted software development and engineering workflows.
- Develop machine learning and AI applications, including software using LLMs, AI APIs, agents, RAG, computer vision, or machine learning models.
- Work on embedded systems, flight software, ground systems, web applications, software requirements, object-oriented design, and aerospace systems.
- Analyze, test, validate, and improve manually written or AI-generated software and technical outputs.
- Prototype new approaches using AI, machine learning, or large language models and collaborate using team development tools.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, applied mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Must be a junior, senior, or graduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Must be proficient in at least one programming language; preferred languages include C++, C#, Python, Java, and TypeScript.
- Must have experience using AI-assisted coding or development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Codex.
- Must be able to understand, evaluate, debug, test, and improve software regardless of whether it was written manually or with AI assistance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include AI or machine-learning coursework, research, internships, or projects; Python and AI/ML framework experience; experience with LLMs, AI APIs, agents, RAG, computer vision, or machine-learning models; and experience with Git, Jira, or CI/CD tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, independence, technical curiosity, and hands-on development experience are preferred.
