Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex solution architectures for systems and products across application, data, integration, and cloud domains.
  • Author and maintain Preliminary Architecture Blueprints, Solution Design Documents, and Architecture Decision Records.
  • Partner with Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Commercial Technology, Corporate Technology, delivery teams, and business leaders throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Apply cloud reference architectures and standards across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Lead architecture reviews, technical assessments, risk identification, mitigation planning, and complex technology decisions.
  • Mentor and coach junior Solution Architects and technical staff.
  • Guide teams through architecture governance, design reviews, organizational policies, and Enterprise Architecture engagement processes.
  • Translate strategic business objectives into technical strategy and communicate architectural trade-offs and value.
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and recommendations concerning emerging technologies and delivery patterns.
  • Lead responses to audits, technical due diligence, and internal and external architecture assessments.
  • Contribute to Enterprise Architecture processes, governance frameworks, and collaborative practices.
  • Act as an embedded architect within product and delivery squads across discovery, delivery, and run phases.
  • Use approved AI-augmented tooling responsibly for solution design, decision documentation, and review preparation.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable industry experience.
  • Professional cloud architecture certifications including Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert and Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Experience architecting multiple non-trivial systems end to end, including greenfield and brownfield enterprise-scale engagements.
  • Extensive experience designing and guiding large-scale solutions on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform in enterprise or commercial environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge of cloud-native compute, storage, networking, databases, and integration patterns.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software delivery methodologies.
  • Proven expertise in multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures, cloud migration strategies, and hands-on delivery.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or similar approaches.
  • Fluency with C4 modeling, Architecture Decision Records, value stream and capability mapping, event storming, Domain-Driven Design, fitness functions, evolutionary architecture, and Team Topologies.
  • Expertise in scalability, performance, resilience, disaster recovery, security by design, and architectural trade-offs.
  • Experience with solution costing, total cost of ownership analysis, business case development, and commercial considerations.
  • Technical knowledge of application architecture, data architecture, integration patterns, API design, microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud networking.
  • Familiarity with IT frameworks, governance, risk, and compliance requirements in enterprise environments.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing junior technical staff and architects.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders, C-level executives, and business leaders and explain technical concepts in business terms.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Experience in commercial real estate technology and product-based operating models is desirable.
  • Spanish fluency is desirable.
