Base Salary
$170k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Convex’s client libraries, sync protocol, and query APIs.
- Support new frameworks and track emerging technologies in application development.
- Develop scalable, composable abstractions and libraries that remain simple over the lifetime of a project.
- Prioritize projects in collaboration with the engineering team and CTO.
- Help establish engineering practices and design guidelines as the team and systems scale.
- Write client library code and investigate complex production issues when needed.
Requirements
- Multiple years of experience building APIs, client libraries, or developer tools.
- Strong TypeScript experience and a good understanding of the TypeScript, React, and web development ecosystems.
- Ability to write high-quality code and think deeply about architecture, abstractions, and long-term system implications.
- Experience with or enthusiasm for scaling in a high-growth startup environment.
- Interest in working in person at Convex’s San Francisco office.
- Understanding of user-facing live-site services, preferably with OLTP database experience.
- Self-direction, tenacity, constructive collaboration, and willingness to occasionally participate in on-call support.
