Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable GCP infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Provision and manage VPC, IAM, Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Compute, CloudSQL, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Composer.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and automation.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for platform health and performance.
- Collaborate with data engineers to understand infrastructure needs and provide support.
- Implement security and compliance best practices and policies for the GCP environment.
- Evaluate new technologies and automate processes to continuously improve the platform.
- Work under the guidance of a platform lead in a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience.
- Proficiency writing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
- Experience with Python or Bash scripting.
- Understanding of networking concepts including VPCs, subnets, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Google Cloud Build, Jenkins, and GitLab CI.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Preferred: experience with BigQuery, Compute, CloudSQL, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Composer on GCP.
- Preferred: GCP certification such as Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
- Preferred: experience with Google Cloud's operations suite, formerly Stackdriver.
- Preferred: familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
