Responsibilities
- Build and maintain services and tooling for network provisioning, changes, drift detection, and operational verification.
- Develop safe network-change workflows including review and diff tooling, staged rollouts and rollbacks, audit trails, and guardrails.
- Build scalable observability systems, telemetry pipelines, and incident-investigation tooling.
- Integrate network source-of-truth data with the cloud platform through APIs and reliable automation.
- Own architecture and technical decisions for the APAC area while coordinating with European teams.
- Collaborate with network engineers and SREs to turn operational needs into production-quality tooling.
- Hire, onboard, mentor, and set engineering standards for the initial regional team.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent practical background, including experience as a tech lead or team lead with broad ownership.
- Strong coding, service reliability, operational ownership, architectural thinking, and system-design skills.
- Proficiency in Go or willingness to switch to it; Python is also welcome.
- Ability to work autonomously, make decisions with incomplete information, and establish processes from scratch.
- Willingness to remain hands-on while leading and growing a team.
- Interest in infrastructure and/or networking; networking experience, CCNP education, data-center networking, or demonstrated ability to learn quickly is a bonus.
- Experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, testing or staging environments, or network-as-code workflows is a bonus.
- Low-level networking or datapath experience with eBPF/XDP, DPDK, kernel networking, or traffic-processing systems is a bonus.
- Experience designing high-load services, observability platforms, open-source contributions or production OSS debugging, or building an engineering team from scratch is preferred.
- Ability to manage large cross-regional projects, guide junior colleagues, prioritize high-impact work, write high-quality code, lead hiring, and mentor others.
