Responsibilities
- Own and deliver platform components and features from design through production operation.
- Build APIs, MCP servers, integrations, gateways, and tooling consumed by domains, DevOps pipelines, and enterprise systems.
- Develop policy engines, identity fabric, observability and audit pipelines, registries, guardrails, orchestration gateways, and governance tooling.
- Write clean, tested, maintainable, and well-instrumented production code with metrics, tracing, resilience, and latency-aware design.
- Participate in deployments, monitoring, incident response, on-call support, and production operations.
- Produce runtime evidence connecting AI activity to policy enforcement, identity, lineage, model-risk review, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to technical decisions under the direction of Principal Engineers and Leads.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with AI Developer Experience, AI Security, and AI SDLC teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline; a master's degree is an asset.
- At least 5 years of software or platform engineering experience building and operating production services.
- Production operations experience with deployments, monitoring, incident response, and on-call responsibilities.
- Hands-on depth in at least one area: API or gateway services, policy-as-code or authorization, workload identity or security, observability or telemetry, or audit and data platforms.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, API design skills, and understanding of distributed-systems concepts such as latency, resilience, and availability.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go; TypeScript or Java experience is an asset.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure, containers or Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, GitOps, and DevSecOps.
- Experience with Git-based workflows, Jira, and Confluence.
- Knowledge of authorization systems such as Cedar or OPA/Rego, or comparable systems.
- Knowledge of identity and security technologies including SPIFFE/SPIRE, mTLS, OAuth/OIDC, token exchange, or federated identity.
- Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, Dynatrace or Splunk, or equivalent observability and audit technologies.
- Experience with API gateways, LLM routing or abstraction, prompt-injection or PII defenses, AI evaluation, service catalogues, asset registries, or lifecycle workflows.
- Working knowledge of GenAI platform patterns including AI gateways, RAG, agentic patterns, embeddings, and guardrails.
- Familiarity with Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, SageMaker, MLflow, LangChain, or LlamaIndex is an asset.
- Awareness of responsible AI, AI and data governance, privacy, cloud security, and IAM for AI workloads.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS ML Specialty, Microsoft Certified Azure AI Engineer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
