Responsibilities
- Administer and support Windows Server and Linux systems in production and non-production environments.
- Perform application installation, post-deployment configuration, service validation, and environment-readiness checks.
- Execute structured build, deployment, patching, and maintenance activities using approved runbooks and change procedures.
- Run, modify, and troubleshoot scripts for system configuration, deployments, patching, and validation.
- Investigate operating system, service, application, installation, patching, startup, and connectivity issues.
- Review logs, Windows Event Viewer, service status, permissions, processes, ports, certificates, and configuration files to resolve problems.
- Apply operating system, middleware, and application patches with pre-maintenance checks, post-patch validation, and rollback support.
- Support vulnerability remediation, system hardening, STIG implementation, and compliance-driven configuration activities.
- Troubleshoot DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancers, ports, certificates, and other network and service-connectivity issues.
- Support cloud-hosted compute, storage, networking, identity, access management, and environment provisioning.
- Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, service restoration, maintenance windows, after-hours support, and on-call rotation.
- Create technical documentation, runbooks, implementation records, validation results, and escalation notes.
- Identify automation opportunities and improve operational processes to reduce recurring incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least three years of experience in site reliability engineering, systems administration, infrastructure operations, DevOps, cloud operations, production support, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience administering Windows Server, Linux, or both.
- Experience installing, configuring, validating, and troubleshooting applications in hosted environments.
- Experience performing structured build, deployment, configuration, or maintenance activities from technical runbooks.
- Ability to run, modify, or troubleshoot scripts using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or Chef.
- Experience applying operating system, middleware, or application patches and performing post-maintenance validation.
- Working knowledge of DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancers, ports, certificates, maintenance windows, change control, and rollback planning.
- Familiarity with cloud-hosted infrastructure and ticketing, incident-management, or change-management systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Health Millennium or Cerner applications, federal or regulated environments, STIGs, vulnerability remediation, cybersecurity hardening, Citrix technologies, infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, monitoring, alerting, centralized logging, observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, SRE operations, Oracle Database, SQL, middleware, or related Oracle technologies.
- Relevant certifications in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Windows Server, Linux, networking, cybersecurity, or cloud computing are preferred.
