Base Salary

$167k - $317k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the in-vehicle OTA software update engine.
  • Design and implement reliable, safe update orchestration across download, verification, installation, and activation lifecycles.
  • Write production-quality asynchronous Rust focused on correctness, safety, and maintainability.
  • Build developer tooling for creating and managing software update deployments.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, container infrastructure, and multi-target build systems.
  • Collaborate with embedded firmware, vehicle software, and cloud infrastructure teams to coordinate end-to-end update flows.
  • Participate in high-quality code reviews and produce useful technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years writing production Rust, or strong demonstrable C++ expertise with willingness to work in Rust.
  • Strong async programming and concurrent systems design experience, including the Tokio runtime.
  • Solid Linux systems development, debugging, and operations experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing state machines for distributed or embedded systems.
  • Strong unit, integration, and mock-driven testing discipline.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and modern build systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Preferred experience with automotive systems, OTA updates, or UDS, CAN, and LIN vehicle communication protocols.
  • Preferred familiarity with Yocto/BitBake, embedded Linux image builds, cross-compilation, serialization and schema evolution, developer-tool distribution, regulated industries, and AI-assisted coding workflows.
