AI Solution Engineer, Security
Dell Technologies8 hours ago
Responsibilities
- Own solution design for AI-native security workflows from problem statement through buildable specification.
- Determine whether security work should use agents, deterministic automation, or remain unchanged, and document the rationale.
- Consolidate overlapping security processes with functional owners and practitioners into unified processes, data models, and evidence models.
- Define agent authority boundaries, scoped credentials, human approvals, technical controls, and audit trails.
- Threat-model agentic systems against prompt injection, tool abuse, untrusted context content, and data exfiltration.
- Baseline cycle time, manual touch points, and rework, then define measurable improvement targets and retired processes.
- Design verification, failure containment, rollback, escalation, evidence, and traceability mechanisms.
- Integrate agentic workflows with security tooling, systems of record, identity and access systems, data platforms, and collaboration surfaces through APIs, event streams, and MCP.
- Establish reusable reference architectures, agent primitives, orchestration and context patterns, evaluation harnesses, and integration templates.
- Lead cross-functional process consolidation and influence engineers, practitioners, and executives without direct authority.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, security engineering, or platform architecture, with production delivery experience.
- Production delivery and ongoing operation of AI and agentic systems with measurable operational or business impact.
- Deep hands-on experience with agent loops, planner and executor patterns, sub-agent delegation, tool and function calling, state management, checkpointing, resumability, and idempotency.
- Experience with context engineering, retrieval and search, memory architecture, enterprise-data grounding, context compaction, tool and schema design, and structured outputs.
- Experience designing boundaries between model reasoning and deterministic logic, plus evaluation engineering using golden sets, offline and online evaluation, regression suites, and acceptance thresholds.
- Knowledge of production economics including token budgeting, prompt and response caching, model selection and routing, fallback behavior, latency, and cost targets.
- Experience designing agent authorization and identity systems using non-human identities, scoped least-privilege credentials, delegation, approvals, and audit trails.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or a similar language; the role includes prototyping and reviewing code.
- Experience with distributed systems and integration engineering, including APIs, event-driven design, schema and contract versioning, retry and backpressure behavior, and trace-level observability.
- Experience modeling data across systems of record, including entity resolution and reconciliation of overlapping asset, finding, or owner representations.
- Demonstrated experience consolidating cross-functional processes and landing designs adopted by teams with conflicting requirements and existing tooling.
- Working knowledge of security engineering in application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling, secure SDLC, or an equivalent domain.
- Strong senior-level communication and influence without authority.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: experience applying agentic AI to application security, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, threat modeling, or software supply-chain security.
- Preferred: experience building MCP servers, agent skills and tools, or extending Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
- Preferred: familiarity with secure-by-design and secure-by-default principles, OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, NIST SSDF, and NIST AI RMF.
- Preferred: production LLMOps experience including versioning, staged rollout, regression detection, behavioral drift monitoring, and audit-defensible automation.
- Preferred: prior Principal-level or above individual contributor experience with organization-wide design authority.
