Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Translate ambiguous product requirements into technical solutions with data architects, analysts, engineers, users, and stakeholders.
- Design, build, and maintain complex ETL/ELT workflows and optimized data transformations.
- Maintain data quality, integrity, compliance, metadata, and lineage.
- Modernize on-premises systems into distributed cloud-based services and integrate software with existing defense systems.
- Design authentication, identity management, authorization, and RBAC/ABAC frameworks.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, observability, and CI/CD automation improvements.
- Own architecture decisions and ensure technical quality across the engineering team.
- Develop design specifications, user manuals, maintenance guides, and other technical documentation.
- Collaborate with partner engineers and product teams to influence product direction and identify future improvements.
- Provide technical mentorship and elevate engineering standards across the team.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to inform product enhancements.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience for the mid-level track or 5 years for the senior track.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Expert proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, TypeScript, or Python, with the ability to write idiomatic, testable code.
- Experience with system design, API development, workflow orchestration, relational databases, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong knowledge of database design, schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
- Experience leading decomposition of complex monolithic applications into independent services communicating through lightweight APIs.
- Modern API design experience, including RESTful services and tools such as FastAPI or ASP.NET in C#.
- Experience with authorization, data governance, security telemetry pipelines, policy enforcement, and role-based access control.
- Familiarity with core Kubernetes concepts, including Controllers, Operators, and CRDs.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense acquisition or sustainment software modernization projects.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and technical leadership abilities.
- Experience working proactively and managing time effectively in a remote environment.
