Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, test, review, and debug secure, scalable production software.
  • Automate remediation of recurring issues and improve application and platform reliability, stability, and performance.
  • Lead resiliency design reviews, decompose complex technical problems into actionable work, and serve as the primary technical contact during major incidents.
  • Define service-level indicators, service-level objectives, and error budgets with stakeholders and customers.
  • Provide technical expertise, identify technology bottlenecks, and share knowledge through internal forums and communities of practice.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
  • Proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise architecture, toil reduction, and site reliability practices.
  • Advanced hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Fluency in at least one modern programming language, including Python or Java/Spring Boot.
  • Knowledge of cloud or distributed systems and practical cloud-native experience.
  • Experience with automation, continuous delivery, observability, service-level-objective alerting, containers, orchestration, and networking troubleshooting.
  • Preferred qualifications include Splunk, Grafana, data streaming frameworks, AWS services, Kubernetes, and Terraform experience.
