Base Salary

$124k - $222k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain DevOps pipelines for deploying, monitoring, and scaling machine-learning runtime environments.
  • Build infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines for distributed systems and cloud platforms.
  • Architect and operate asynchronous messaging, streaming, caching, NoSQL, and cluster platforms across private and public clouds.
  • Develop client libraries and SDKs and improve adoption of core middleware infrastructure across Workday.
  • Build comprehensive monitoring services and support rotating on-call operations.
  • Collaborate with application, service, and machine-learning teams to improve products and engineering efficiency.
  • Create technical design documentation, maintain runbooks, and mentor or lead other team members.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of DevOps experience for the Software Development Engineer track or 5 years for the Senior Software Development Engineer track, including infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipeline development.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with system design and comprehensive technical design documentation.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker, Terraform, Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and monitoring tools such as Grafana.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols, RESTful services, service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, and microservices.
  • Experience building monitoring services, working with enterprise SaaS products, and supporting rotating on-call operations.
  • Experience leading or mentoring team members and collaborating effectively across teams.
  • A BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • U.S. citizenship is required because the role supports U.S. federal government contracts.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; active TS/SCI with CI Poly is preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include machine-learning experience, specialty certifications such as CompTIA CySA+, GICSP, or CASP+, and DoD 8570/8140 compliance with at least IAT Level II certification and a current Computing Environment credential.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range is $123,900 to $222,000 USD depending on location, experience, skills, duties, and business needs; the role may also be eligible for a bonus plan, role-specific commission or bonus, and annual refresh stock grants.
  • Workday’s Flex Work model requires spending at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, or partners.
  • The role may require onsite work at client locations in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
