Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate technical working groups with industry, standards bodies, public sector organisations, and trust service providers.
- Evaluate and guide the design and evolution of digital wallet ecosystems, reference architectures, trust frameworks, security models, and interoperability approaches.
- Assess secure communication protocols and define security, assurance, trust, access control, authentication, key management, encryption, auditability, and non-repudiation requirements.
- Contribute to technical specifications covering profiles, interfaces, APIs, data models, and cross-border interoperability frameworks.
- Translate eIDAS regulatory and legal requirements into interoperable technical architectures and operational models.
- Support conformance, compliance, and interoperability testing approaches.
- Produce technical analyses, architectural recommendations, technical guidance, and decision-support materials.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in communication infrastructures, secure communications, digital identity, trust services, cybersecurity, distributed systems, or related technical fields.
- Proven experience designing digital wallet ecosystems, security architectures, secure communication systems, interoperability frameworks, or related technical solutions.
- Track record engineering large-scale modern communication systems and translating complex requirements into scalable architectures.
- Strong hands-on experience with contemporary communication systems and related architectures.
- Expertise in one or more of MLS, Matrix, Signal Protocol, Registered Electronic Mail, or eDelivery, with the ability to learn the broader ecosystem.
- Knowledge of digital identity, electronic identification, trust services, credential lifecycle management, cryptographic algorithms, post-quantum considerations, remote identification and authentication, and privacy-enhancing technologies.
- Good understanding of eIDAS and related implementing measures, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience facilitating multidisciplinary technical discussions across public sector, standards, industry, and international initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and technical documentation skills.
- Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
