Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend features end-to-end, from technical design through production.
- Write clean, reliable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Debug backend service performance, reliability, and data integrity issues.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, data science, analytics, operations, and partner engineering teams.
- Write unit and integration tests and contribute to observability and technical debt improvements.
- Participate in on-call rotations, respond to production incidents, and help mitigate customer-impacting events.
- Communicate progress, blockers, technical tradeoffs, and implementation approaches clearly.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of software engineering experience shipping backend features in production.
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Go, Python, or Java.
- Working knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, REST or gRPC APIs, message queues, and asynchronous processing.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling, querying, indexing, and performance considerations.
- Experience with observability tooling such as logging, metrics, and alerting.
- Comfort working with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
- Experience maintaining unit and integration tests.
- Familiarity with Git workflows, code review processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to independently scope and break down moderately complex tasks, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
