Base Salary

$162k - $260k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop state-of-the-art deep learning and machine learning perception models for long-range multi-sensor detection and degraded sensor conditions.
  • Address object detection, traffic-actor tracking, action recognition, and semantic understanding of traffic scenes.
  • Guide software development from prototype through production deployment on a real-time autonomous-vehicle platform.
  • Use large-scale datasets for model training and analysis.
  • Diagnose, analyze, and resolve failure modes found during on-road and simulated testing.
  • Build and scale ML engineering pipelines for rapid experimentation and large-scale training and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to produce robust, well-tested autonomy systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of research-based or professional experience with C++ and Python.
  • Strong foundation in machine learning, including deep learning, computer vision, recursive state estimation, structured prediction, and optimization.
  • Comprehensive understanding of linear algebra, discrete and continuous optimization, supervised and unsupervised methods, and generative and discriminative models.
  • Strong publication record at top-tier robotics or computer vision conferences and journals, or significant relevant industry experience in robotics, computer vision, or self-driving technology.
  • Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow is desirable.
  • Advanced production-level C++ knowledge is highly preferred.
  • Experience applying computer vision and machine learning to complex robotics problems is desirable.
  • Experience deploying computer vision and machine learning models at scale across large physical fleets is desirable.
  • Experience with 3D data, including 3D object detection, tracking, semantic segmentation, or point-cloud processing from LiDAR, Radar, and multi-camera systems is desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in close cross-team collaboration is desirable.
