Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product to prioritize customer-focused work and deliver reliable features quickly.
- Design and own backend services and APIs for web applications, workflows, and integrations.
- Model and manage data in Postgres to support low-latency user experiences.
- Build secure, multi-tenant systems with appropriate auditing for enterprise customers.
- Implement backend features that utilize LLMs and agentic tools.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and design partners to define API contracts and ship features.
- Add logging, metrics, and tracing for observability and debugging.
- Improve performance and scalability by profiling bottlenecks and tuning queries.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with production web applications or SaaS products.
- Proven track record of building fast-growing SaaS products using PWA technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and experience shipping intuitive products.
- Proficient in Python and familiar with modern web frameworks like FastAPI or Flask.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Postgres.
- Solid understanding of API design, authentication/authorization, and error handling.
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Comfortable operating services in production and participating in an on-call rotation.
