Responsibilities
- Design and own backend services and APIs powering web applications, workflows, and integrations.
- Model and manage data in Postgres and related data stores for low-latency, reliable experiences.
- Build secure, multi-tenant, permissions-aware systems with auditing for enterprise and government customers.
- Implement backend workflows that orchestrate LLMs and agentic tools through robust services.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and design partners to prioritize customer-focused work, define API contracts, and ship features end-to-end.
- Add logging, metrics, and tracing for observability and debugging, and participate in on-call ownership.
- Improve performance and scalability by profiling bottlenecks, tuning queries, and refining service boundaries.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience building and operating production web applications or SaaS products.
- A track record of building fast-growing SaaS products using PWA technologies and shipping highly intuitive products with strong attention to detail.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with a modern web framework such as FastAPI or Flask.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Postgres.
- Understanding of API design, authentication and authorization, background job patterns, and robust error handling.
- Experience building on cloud infrastructure such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Comfort operating production services with logs, metrics, dashboards, and alerts, including participation in an on-call rotation.
- Must be authorized to work in India; visa sponsorship is not available.
